Conducting RAPID child protection assessment in Baidoa |
The RAPID (Rapid Assessment Process for Immediate Data) methodology will be employed to quickly gather essential data to inform immediate and long-term interventions.
Objectives
Assess the current child protection situation in Baidoa: Identify key protection risks and vulnerabilities faced by children. Evaluate existing child protection mechanisms and services. Gather data on incidents of violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect.
Inform programmatic and policy decisions: Provide evidence-based recommendations for immediate and strategic interventions. Support the development of targeted child protection programs and policies.
Engage stakeholders: Involve community members, local authorities, and humanitarian actors in the assessment process. Foster a collaborative approach to addressing child protection issues. |

CSOs Capacity Assessment “Inclusive Good Governance and Development through Strengthening of Civil Society Organizations in Somalia” Care International, Puntland, Banadir and Southwest State |
The objective of the assignment was to assess the capabilities of 66 local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) comprising of 1360 respondents in the Federal Republic of Somalia, enabling them to actively participate in policy dialogue, advocacy efforts, program implementation, and monitoring of national development plans. Additionally, the assessment aimed to bolster the capacities of local CSOs in promoting gender equality and advocating for inclusive governance. The purpose of conducting this Capacity Assessment was to gather valuable insights that would inform the formulation of a comprehensive plan for strengthening the capacities of CSOs in areas such as advocacy, networking, and institutional development. |

The external evaluation assignment consisted of four components: baseline assessment, Bi-annual Monitoring Assessment, learning and final impact evaluation. The overall purpose of the programme evaluation is to provide NIS and other stakeholders with an assessment of the project’s relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, and impact, and further test the underlying assumptions and weak links of the programme’s ToC to leave a robust body of knowledge. It is therefore expected that the TPM offers recommendations that invite discussions within NIS on how to keep improving its programming and interventions. |

The baseline and situation assessment will look into the current context of key stakeholder capacities and relationships, as well as the baseline assessment for indicators in the results framework. The consultant will be expected to travel to all the target regions dependent on the security situation. The Maamul Wadaag project will be implemented in Puntland, South-West states and Banadir Regional Administration. The assignment will involve a visit to the target districts based on samples derived through consultations with CARE and other consortium partners. The consultancy will involve desk review, field data collection, data analysis and report writing and presentation of findings. |

Labor Market Study on the Participation of Skilled Workers in Puntland with Golis Telecommunication Company |
TCS conducted a market research study in collaboration with Golis Telecommunication Company, aiming to enhance the relationship between skilled technicians and clients in Puntland. The study gathered data from 1,192 respondents, all technicians residing in the three primary cities of Puntland: Bosaso (44%), Garowe (29%), and Galkaio (27%). Key activities, processes and achievements of the assignment include the following:
The primary objectives were to assess the demand for skilled workers in the labor market, explore avenues for supporting and enhancing their capacities, identify key challenges, develop solutions, and understand investment opportunities within the market.
Conducted surveys and interviews with 1,192 technicians to gather comprehensive data on their skills, employment status, challenges faced, and opportunities for improvement.
Analyzed the data to identify trends and patterns, providing insights into the demand for skilled workers, key challenges they face, and potential solutions.
Developed a detailed report highlighting the findings of the study, including recommendations for enhancing the capacities of skilled workers and improving their relationship with clients. The report also identified investment opportunities within the labor market.
Through this project, TCS demonstrated its expertise in labor market analysis and its commitment to supporting the professional development of skilled workers in Puntland. |

The project is implemented in Somaliland and Puntland, targeting communities in Hargeisa, Burco, Garowe, and Qardho, and engaging diverse groups including children, youth, adults, vulnerable groups, civil societies, knowledge institutes, media, and public authorities. |

This baseline evaluation of EGEP sought to satisfy two main goals. The first is to establish baseline levels of core project outcomes and intermediate outcomes and develop reasonable targets against which the project will be evaluated at the midline and endline.
